EXCLUSIVE: Interview With Shy'Ann Rockelle

Shy’Ann Rockelle is a fast rising New York City based singer/songwriter who is ready to take over the world. She recently released her brand new critically acclaimed single ‘Remedy’.

Here we chat exclusively to  Shy’Ann Rockelle to discuss her latest release, touring plans, musical influences and more:

Growing up who inspired your love of music?

Growing up my grandmother inspired my love of music. She always, and I mean always had music playing around the house. Different types. My grandmother was the one who actually helped me write my first song around 8 years old. After that moment we had, I have been writing music ever since.

Who has influenced your music the most?

Marsha Ambrosius, Beyoncé, and Alicia Keys has influenced my music the most. As far as the genre and the sound. Marsha Ambrosius has inspired my love of how R&B used to appreciated and loved. Alicia Keys inspires me to write music that makes people feel good. Beyoncé has influenced my music as far as telling a story throughout my music and living through my music.

How would you describe your sound to new listeners?

I would describe my music as the new and improved R&B. It’s definitely a force to be reckoned with.

What is the inspiration behind your new single Remedy?

The inspiration behind the new single is celebrating life. I want to make that an immense part of my music. I want my listeners to feel good when they hear this single and my upcoming material. It’s really a great mood to get into. The inspiration really comes from celebrating life and getting what you want and deserve in life. Make the most of it. 

What do you hope fans take from the track?

I hope fans take the motivation and the power from the track.

Can we expect an album from you soon?

An album will definitely be in the near future, I am focusing on an EP at the moment. That will be coming up very soon.

Do you have any touring plans lined up?

Yes I will be doing a few shows throughout the rest of the year, starting next month.

What can we expect from you over the course of the next 6 months?

Over the next six months, you can expect my 2nd single, a few videos and merchandise will be available as well.

What are your long term career goals?

My long term career goals are to get signed to one of my dream record labels, and creating an empire.
