Demi Lovato Honors Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Survivors in San Diego

On February 14th, one of the worst mass shootings in the United States took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and it impacted the nation. Young adults around the US are speaking up and speaking out with the massive support of some of the biggest names in music and pop culture. One of those names is Demi Lovato.

Demi took ‘standing in solidarity’ to a new level on February 26th in San Diego. During one of her most vulnerable songs, Warrior, she invited six survivors to the stage with her. After that moment, Warrior will undoubtedly be a song of strength and encouragement for not just those survivors, but everyone with ties to Marjory Stoneman Douglas.

Demi also spoke of her own struggles with mental health and said she wanted to make sure the survivors were being listened to.

‘I want to make sure their voices are being heard and we can provide them with the mental health and post-trauma care they need.’

There are a number of ways you can get involved and help to ensure that they’re taken care of and that they can begin to rebuild from the inside out. One of those ways was posted on screen as Demi performed.

There are fundraising pages set up and students from the high school are attempting to set up a benefit concert as well. Demi’s act of kindness inspired all of us here, as well as fans around the world.

Demi Lovato is currently on her ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ world tour.
